Sunday Theater Program:
Jewish Traditions as Culture, History, & Ethics
Sundays | 9:30–11:00 AM | Fort Greene, Brooklyn | Grades K–5
We bring Jewish culture and stories to life without religious dogma. Our Sunday Theater program gives K-5 kids a creative space to collaborate, perform, and work on how we are Jewish, through dynamic dramatic arts.
Each semester, in Kol Am's Sunday Theater Program students build an original piece of theater together. The starting point is a Jewish story. How they tell it is entirely up to them.
We offer two cohorts on Sunday mornings: one for children in Kindergarten and 1st grade, and one for children in 2nd through 5th grade. Over the course of the semester, students read, question, and reimagine a Jewish story — devising scenes, creating characters, making design choices, and performing the finished piece for family and community.
