Friday Afterschool — Starting September 18, 2026

A weekly gathering for children of many backgrounds to make art, play, dance, and explore Shabbat traditions through a secular lens. Kids bring their own family traditions into the room, share them, and imagine new ways to engage with the themes at the heart of Shabbat — rest, reflection, appreciation, and the celebration of light, good food, and family.

Kol Am Brooklyn is a community of families exploring Jewish identity through a secular, humanistic, feminist, and arts-based approach. Through our Sunday Theater and Friday Afterschool programs, children learn about Jewish culture, history, traditions, and values through stories, discussion, art, music, theater, and hands-on activities—creating a meaningful Jewish identity rooted in curiosity, community, and the world we live in.
